Lightly Toasted Touché was a power-trio consisting of drummer Adam Burwash, bassist Mike Hooper, and guitarist David Andrew Wiebe. They began their tenure by contributing music to independent music compilations (namely Daniel Amos fan albums). They started working on original material once they finished said projects, and booked their first show for April 2004.

On April 8, they played at Brierstock in Caronport, SK. The band was received with enthusiasm, and the show is remembered as a "classic LTT moment". The band tried to get a summer tour underway, and these efforts were interspersed with rehearsing and recording.

Although the band did release a number of improvised tracks (LTT always made improvisation a part of their live shows) for free on their website, their first album wasn't to be released until much later. The band did garner a great deal of positive response and built a small underground fan base, but their plans for a summer tour didn't work out.

They did, however, play a number of shows at a local coffeehouse in July (The House Coffee & Sanctuary). They also played at a local pub, The Flying Emu, as well as an Anniversary in the months that followed. Most of their subsequent shows, however, were held at The House.

Due to various circumstances and complications, their December show at The House would be their last performance. They had every intention of continuing and even released their first EP, A Tale Of The Coming Together And Murder Of My Heart In The Golden State in February 2005. Ultimately, they decided to take a break in May, but still hint at future collaboration.
