Hello, my name is David Andrew Wiebe and I am the host of David Andrew Wiebe Interviews and Music Business Podcast. If you're listening to this right now, chances are you are interested in sponsoring or advertising on the podcast, so I'd like to say "thank you" in advance for taking the time to listen.

First, I'd like to take some time to tell you a little bit about myself, and then we'll get down to the nitty gritty of the podcast itself. Hopefully by the time I'm done with this presentation, you will get a better feel for what I'm up to.

Now that we have that out of the way, let's get started. As of this recording, I've been a musician for 10 years, a teacher for over 8 years, and a podcaster for about a year and a half. In that time, I've produced about 19 episodes in total, and 17 of those have been with the Interviews and Music Business Podcast.

In that time, I've had the chance to learn a lot about production and the episodes have seen a lot of improvement in quality.

I've personally listened to hundreds of relevant podcasts, read dozens of articles, blog posts and books, interviewed numerous musicians and entrepreneurs, and have learned a lot from my studies. However, my goal still remains the same; to connect with musicians and experts, and continually grow and learn from them.

Now let's talk about the podcast itself. I've been releasing podcast episodes since July 2009 on a monthly basis. Episodes usually last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, and usually feature an interview with a local musician. Although there is a local focus, my goal is to make the podcast relevant to musicians and music fans everywhere. Currently I operate out of Calagary, Alberta, Canada, but I do have plans to interview experts outside of the city, and possibly globally.

While the primary feature of the podcast is interviews with musicians and industry experts, there are several secondary features that I would like to highlight as well. Oftentimes I will also discuss current news items of interest, book reviews, and marketing and promotion tips. Additionally, I will encourage musicians to play a song or two on the podcast, especially if they are singer/songwriters.

Although the listenership of the podcast is relatively small, it's definitely growing. I have a newsletter with over 100 subscribers, and my main site, www.daw-music.com, consistently gets 3000 - 5000 visits a month. I am proactive in advertising on Facebook and Twitter, and partnering with other websites to boost traffic. I am also blogging, writing articles, and offering free downloads on a regular basis. I've recently put a rather large banner on my main site to draw more attention to the podcast as well.

Although I don't think I would be able to dazzle you with any numbers right now, I can see my audience growing over time, especially as I interview more people in the industry. I am passionate about music and connecting with people, so I think there is definitely long term potential with the podcast.
